I started off in the video game industry as an animator for a former start-up company called Break Your Face Games. As a part of BYF I setup both custom and Biped Rigs for characters and animated movement cycles for the characters in game animations. I was able to develop my skills in rigging and creating animations for both two and four legged creatures. In doing so I learned a lot about the process of being an Animator and sometime after BYF shut its doors I found that my true passion was for levels.

I wanted to be involved in creating the experience of the game. The interaction of the character and the level is what I wanted to create.

Innovative Animation showcases my accomplishments in working to become an Environment artist. As I created my first full project AlleyWay I learned a lot of what it takes to be proficient and was able to apply my skills in modeling, texturing, lighting and designing an interesting visual space for players to survive within.

In creating AlleyWay I went through the process of learning a new tool in order to implement my level into a video game world. From modeling to creating normal maps I learned what many positions within a game company have to accomplish such as a 3d environment artist or texture artist. In designing a level the only real limit is your ability to create the look that you desire within the overall restraints of processing consideration.
